We’ve been lucky enough, and busy enough to have 2 removals teams running flat out throughout the summer holidays. We’ve had one team running our UHP machine and a second team running our Vapor Blasting machine. Each different machine is designed to do a slightly different job, and this is where the experience really comes in.
We often find schools and nurseries have old playground surfaces with worn out line markings which give the outdoor playgrounds a poor aesthetic. When we first start working with a client, we fully assess their existing markings and create a plan to develop a new playground experience for their pupils.
As part of this process we can remove tarmac graphics to give your activity area a facelift and prepare for new markings.
Removals is a mucky job, but when the job is done there is a lovely sense of satisfaction.
All of our quoted prices are all-inclusive. Once quoted and agreed, that’s the price you pay, there will never be any hidden charges or added ‘extras’…who needs a nasty surprise like that?!

We use two methods of playground marking removal.
It really is Horses for courses and all that! (We don’t have a 3rd horse call ‘burn them off’ though as that causes more harm than good)! Which is why we run 2 completely different machines/techniques. It’s never a one size fits all but we are equipped with different methods, and probably more importantly, the knowledge to provide the best result.

Our Ultra High Pressure (UHP) Water machine is brilliant, its quick, clean and there isn’t much it can’t remove. Utilising UHP Water, this piece of kit is environmentally friendly to use and efficient. Capable of removing nearly all types of markings, the UHP machine provides the most cost effective results, and the least clean up time.
For this method, our crew will require drive-on access to the playground as well as a steady water supply.
Our Vapor Blast machine is also a brilliant piece of kit. A little more gentle and delicate, a little slower procedure (mainly the clean down) and removes old painted markings like they were never there.
This method uses an abrasive gritty solution which is blasted at the playground surface to remove the markings. Vapour Blasting takes more time than ultra-high-pressure water jetting, however, it is the ideal method for delicate surfaces.
Vapour Blasting is an environmentally friendly method of removing playground markings. We use eco-friendly materials and do not generate fumes during the removal process. Our vapour blasting method is great where the ground is a a little more sensitive or for certain types of materials.
The quick, compact sand jetting method does not cause surface damage. We do not require to barricade or close public footpaths. Uniplay’s sand jetting is also highly mobile and will not leave residue or generate black smoke.
If your playground is heavily marked, the sand jetting process might take longer than other removal methods. Our crew will keep you updated throughout the removal process and clean up the playground area after removal at no extra charge.
